About the project
Turkic Game Jam is a pan-Turkic game development competition connecting developers across Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Hungary and Northern Cyprus. Every local stage feeds into a Grand Finale, with teams building games rooted in shared Turkic cultural heritage.
We have co-organised the Azerbaijan stage for two years running, alongside IGDA Azerbaijan and Gamepons. The 2026 edition was a 48-hour jam with 75+ participants, five to six mentors, four coordinators and a three-person jury — finishing with 19 completed games.
The 2026 themes — Ceremony, Nomad, Knot, Sky, Fire — were chosen to push teams toward work that felt culturally grounded rather than generic. The whole stage ran on HackathonHost, from registration and team formation through jury scoring to certificates.
