About the project
The GameDev Bootcamp ran at Odlar Yurdu University in Baku from 20 April to 28 May 2026, taking students from the fundamentals through to a finished prototype — and finishing the way a bootcamp should, by making everyone ship something.
The finale was a two-day game jam: 64 participants across 13 teams, three revealed themes (Urban, Connection, Escape), a three-person jury, and a 27,200 AZN ($16,000) prize pool. Teams were scored on a weighted rubric published before anyone wrote a line of code — game quality 50%, creativity and theme 30%, presentation 20% — so the result was defensible to every team in the room.
The whole event ran on HackathonHost, from the first registration through team formation, live demo-day timing and real-time jury scoring, to certificates handed out on the spot.
Outcomes
- 13 original prototypes built from scratch in two days
- 27,200 AZN (~$16,000) awarded across five places
- Transparent weighted judging, published before the jam started
- Registration to final report handled on one platform
